Getting there from Thodupuzha
The route runs from Thodupuzha to Kanjar on the Moolamattom road, about 15 km, and then a further 7 km climb to the top. The last stretch is steep and normally needs a four wheel drive. It can also be reached from Pala on the Kottayam side.
What is at the top
Three hillocks, Mankunnu, Kodayathoormala and Thonippara, stand at roughly 960 metres. The ground on top is open grassland rather than forest, so the view runs a long way in every direction. On a clear day the Malankara reservoir is visible, along with parts of several districts.
